Obituary

Flora Carpenter Shumway, 92, of Surprise Arizona, passed away peacefully in her home on May 18, 2015.

She was born May 3, 1923 in Thatcher, Arizona and was the fifth of sixth children to John Carpenter and Mary Jane Barney.

Flora was an accomplished baker and seamstress who loved her family and dutifully served many callings in the Latter-day Saints Church.

She is survived by her daughters Regna Nelson Cameron (Robert), Marla Stanley, Rhonda Sarager (Martin) and Terri Winter, 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

There will be a viewing Friday, May 22nd, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints on 15880 W. Cactus Rd., Surprise, AZ 85329, from 9-9:45am. Funeral service will begin at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley. Funeral arrangements provided by Thompson Funeral Chapel.
