  1. Kitty as she is known by friends and classmates, was one of my very best friends. We became neighbors and friends sixty-two years ago. My heart was broken when pop Shilliday announced the move to Arizona. Over the years we stay connected with letters and phone calls. My husband and I made several trips west and always spent time with Kitty and her husband, George. She returned to Franklin for several class reunions. Time and distance made us closer. We always picked up where we left off. There were three of us in this friendship. The third, Jan Schultz Karasinski. We were the three musketeers. I called kitty every Sunday evening when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, four years ago. We miss you Kitty. How fortunate to have sixty-two years of memories. Gone but never forgotten. I love you my friend, see you in heaven.- Meredith aka Menace

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Mary will be missed by family and friends but she will not be forgotten by our heavenly father. John 5:28,29. I hope you find comfort when thinking back on all the wonderful times you shared with her.

  4. Dear Ronnie and Billie, I was very shocked when I saw your Mom’s obituary in the paper. You may remember us, having been your neighbors on Meadowbrook and that you lived on 59th Drive I think. You both came to our house after school for maybe a whole school year or longer, and you played with our kids Jeff, Judie and Tom. Kitty was such a fun, nice lady, and I can tell from another guestbook signer that she had ovarian cancer. What a shock to hear that! I haven’t had a chance yet to tell my kids about your Mom’s passing, but they will be sad for you, too. You two boys must have kids because I see there are 4 grandkids surviving. I also didn’t know that your Dad George is also gone. Don and I send our heartfelt sympathy to you both and your families. I hope to get around to looking you both up in the phonebook and talk to you personally. For now, please know that we are sorry for your loss, and we know that there is much comfort in Jesus. -Sandy Warren eaumont@cox.net 623-931-0309

I was so sad to hear of Kitty’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Unfortunately, Kitty’s family do not know me because of being away from Franklin so long but I and my brothers and sisters were born and raised one half a block away from Kitty and her siblings on Liberty St. (426). We both attended St Patrick’s grade school where I have fond memories of Kitty and our other classmates. Walked home from school with Kitty many times. Especially remember the various Christmas plays and caroling. My first three years of high school I was in a Seminary in Erie Pa, returned to Franklin for my senior year, and then left to attend California State College for four years. Eventually I ended up in suburbs of Columbus Ohio, where my wife Sally amnd I presently live, so needless to say have not had a lot of contact with Kitty in our adult lives. I’m sure, though, that she continued to be the special person that she was when I knew her in her childhood. Will miss you, Kitty. Look forward to seeing your smiling face again one day.
