Obituary
Jesus “Jesse” Romero, 77, a resident of Avondale died on May 2, 2015 in Avondale. Romero was born January 7, 1938 in Litchfield Park, Arizona, to Francisco Romero and Ermerjilda Arrola Garcia. Romero was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In his early years he worked at Goodyear Farms. In his later years he served his calling from God as Bishop at The Church of God. Romero is survived by his wife, Juanita Romero, sons Jesse Romero and Juaquin Romero, daughters Hope Murphy, Alice Romero, Rebecca Romero, and Lydia Romero, as well as 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Lupe Gonzales and Christina Marruffo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held at 5:30pm on Thursday, May 7th at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Friday, May 8th at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Military burial will follow at Goodyear Farms Historical Cemetery, 12701 W. Indian School Rd, Avondale, AZ.

My thoughts & prayers are with you all today. Your dad will always have a special place in my heart. He not only was my pastor when I was young, but also was like a father to me. He was a true man of God & never missed an opportunity to share the word. I love you all. God bless you… Missy
