Obituary
Danny McGuire, 84, of Litchfield Park, died April 17, 2015 in Litchfield Park, Az. He was born December 25, 1930 in Vernon, Texas to Millard and Roberta McGuire. Mr. McGuire was the owner and operator of White Tank Meats. Mr. McGuire was active in the early days of the Black Vest Gang with the Billy Moore Days. He was a rodeo clown, a Texas cowboy and trainer of exotic animals for television and movies. He hosted many BBQs and events for local charities and dignitaries at his barn. Mr. McGuire is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gerry McGuire; daughters Darlene Boor, Doty Fandel; sons Tony, Clay and Cody McGuire; brothers Jerry “Bud” McGuire and Raymond McGuire; eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Terry, sister Sonia Carol, and 2 grandsons. A visitation and service will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, April 22nd at The McGuire’s Barn, 19249 W. Earll Dr., Litchfield Park, AZ. In honor of Danny McGuire, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Valley.

I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man in August after years of hearing larger than life stories. He was truly an amazing man of God who loved with his whole heart and then some! He will be greatly missed by so many including this Texas girl. Love you Grandpa.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Danny but heard about his many exploits from his granddaughter, Courtney who works at our clinic in Benson. On behalf of all of us at Benson Animal Hospital, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time of loss. I know there will be many memories of Danny that will live on in all of your hearts forever. He clearly had an amazing life and all of us have enjoyed hearing about his life’s stories from a very proud granddaughter!

Mr. McGuire, among his many accomplishments, trained many of the animals utilized in the early Disney movies. I recall, as a youth, wondering why my best fried Cody had a lion in his backyard. Now I know why. He was also a rodeo clown. God has a special place in heaven for all of us, especially the clowns. Clay McGuire was a good neighbor and a good man. He will be missed. Heaven must have needed him more. Rest In Peace.

I Just found out about Danny’s passing yesterday. I am so sorry to have missed the visitation last week at the barn. I wish I could have been there with everyone. I have such wonderful memories of Danny while growing up often spending more time at the McGuire house than my own. There is so much to say that I can’t even scratch the surface in the space allowed here. Since moving from White Tanks, I only visited once every several years, but just knowing that Danny isn’t there makes such a difference. I will truly miss knowing that he’s there. To Gerry, Tony, Clay, Cody and your families deepest sympathy from me and all the Fitzpatrick family.
