Obituary

Victoria Van Hofwegen passed away peacefully and went to live in Heaven with Jesus on May 21, 2021. Victoria was born on December 23, 1933 in Austin, Texas, to Angel and Emma Martinez.

While in high school in Chino, California, Victoria met her future husband, Robert. They were married shortly after and had six children. Mrs. Van Hofwegen’s greatest accomplishment was being a wife and mother. She lived out her faith by loving and caring for her family. Some of her proudest moments were seeing all of her children and grandchildren together at church and spending her birthday celebrating Christmas with family on Broadway Road.

Victoria is survived by her six children: Linda (Jeff) Shook, Robert (Andrea), David (Janet), Paul (Sheila), Donald (Ingrid), Sarah (Eric) Van Dyken, two brothers: Tom (Pat) Martinez and Bob (Carol) Martinez, 24 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Van Hofwegen, parents Angel and Emma Martinez, brother James Martinez, and great grandchildren Arie and Hadilyn Van Hofwegen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg, MN, Phoenix Christian School PreK-8 in Phoenix, AZ, Phoenix Christian Preparatory School in Phoenix, AZ, or West Valley Christian School in Goodyear, AZ. A private family service will be held on Friday, May 28. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
