Obituary

Ms. Sybil K. Davis, 75, of Sierra Vista, Arizona died March 30, 2022 in Goodyear, Arizona. She was born August 31, 1946 in Bellevue, Michigan to Morris H. King and Edith M. King.
Sybil was a loving mother and grandmother. She especially adored all of her grandchildren. Her home was a “Mecca” for all souls. Anybody was welcome at her table, and there were no taboo topics. Some say her home was the center of happy chaos, but to most her home was a place of caring and love.
Sybil enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to go camping, have family game night, and spending holidays (especially Christmas and Halloween) with them. Her caregiving nature was not limited to her friends and family. Sybil also spent much of her time working with animal rescue groups. She was “mom” to several animals through the years. And, though she couldn’t have them as pets, Sybil adored Black Bears and Tigers. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, Sybil could be found playing at the slot machines and attending arts and craft fairs. She also really loved dressing up for and attending the Renaissance Festival. Sybil had one vice: manicures. Her nails were always immaculate.
But there was another side to Sybil; a feisty and adventurist side. She was up for any adventure, anytime. She even rode motorcycles while she was pregnant. She loved to laugh and had a sharp wit, and some might say she was stubborn. But those who knew her, knew she was just standing up for what she believed.
Her loss leaves a gaping hole in the lives that she touched. She will be missed by family, friends, and the animal rescue community.
Sybil is survived by her daughter, Kaylee Bunnell; son, Shawn (Cynthia) Davis; and step-daughter Brenda Bezayiff. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Joseph (Danielle) Davis, Dakota (Klara) Davis, Colton Davis, Travis Arpan, Braxton Arpan, Aiden Arpan, and Evan Bunell along with one expected great-grandchild.
Funerals services will be held at 1pm, April 18 at Thompson Funeral Chapel.

  1. Sybil always had a smile! I looked forward to seeing her at work and later at breakfast along with our retiree group. I’ve missed seeing her during these past couple of years.
To her family. I know you will have a hole in your heart without her, but I also know how blessed you have been with her in your lives. God bless you all.
