Rosareta Phillips

Obituary

Rosareta Phillips passed away on August 26, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona.  She was born May 18, 1943 in New Mexico.  She is the daughter of Amadeo and Ursulita Duran.

Rosareta was one of 4 children. She was the only girl.  She was spoiled by her big brothers.  They loved her dearly. They all lived out of state and when they came in to town to visit her, she was very, very happy.

Rosareta was married to James Phillips for 57years. She had 4 children, Jerry, Linda, Sandra and Barry.  Sadly, she lost her two boys, Jerry and Barry.  She absolutely loved being a mother. Being a mother and grandmother was her full-time job. She gave that role 100%. She was the most loving, patient and caring mother.  She was always there for us day or night. Another role that she was the best at was being a grandmother. She adored all of her grand-kids and great grand-kids. They brought such joy and happiness to her.

Rosareta along with her husband James, took on three of their grandchildren, Jared, Ryan and Kyle and raised them from birth. They never hesitated taking on this role and would not have changed anything. It was not easy because they weren’t young adults but they never complained and took it one day at a time.

Rosareta is survived by her two daughters, Linda Martinez and Sandra Arvizu.  Her two son-in-laws, Joey Martinez and Arthur Arvizu, 8 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids. She is predeceased by her husband, James Phillips, her two sons, Jerry Phillips and Barry Phillips and her grandson, Joseph Martinez.

Rosareta is in Paradise now with all of her loved ones and is no longer in pain with her medical conditions. We will miss her dearly every second of every day.

  2. Mrs. Phillips, aka Superwoman Mom: (a woman with exceptional strengths and ability, especially one who successfully manages a home).
I pray TMH gathers you in his arms and brings you to your final resting place.

  3. Mom,
How do I live without you? It’s not easy!!!!! I keep wanting to call you or text you so many times to check on you or tell you about my day or something that happened good or bad, and it hits me like a brick wall that you’re not here on earth any longer. The selfish part of me wants you back here, but I can’t go there, because you suffered more than any human being could ever suffer , and didn’t complain much until the last few weeks before your passing. God said enough suffering my beautiful daughter and released you from pain. But now we have the pain of a broken, crushed heart. 🙁
I miss you tremendously, and will love you forever and ever !!! Until we meet again soon.
    Your proud daughter,
    Sandra
