Obituary

Ronald Abner Wallick, passed away April, 6th 2023, at home in Overgaard, Az at the age of 82, due to complications with Alzheimer’s disease. Ron was born July 26th, 1940 in Dover, Ohio, to his parents Marion Ost and Edward Wallick. At age 4, the Wallick family moved to Goodyear, Arizona where he attended Avondale Elementary school and Agua Fria Union H.S. where he excelled in sports. Ron then went on to attend Northern Arizona University. He then enlisted into the United States Airforce where he served his country. After his service, he began working as a painter/drywaller for Pete King Corporation in Sun City, Arizona. He was then promoted to Superintendent of Customer Service, where he then moved his family to Las Vegas, Nevada and resided for the next 20 years. In 2004, Ron retired from Pete King Corp, after fulfilling 43 years of employment. Ron and his wife Pat, of 54 years, were then able to move into one of the two cabins, he applied blood, sweat, and tears into, to finally call they’re forever retirement home he built in Overgaard, Az. He loved gardening, wood working, and fishing in the beautiful pines. He was an avid Arizona State University Sun Devils fan, and if you knew Ron, they were the ONE and ONLY team. Ron was Shelley’s “bonus” dad, and provided all the love and support throughout the years. He was so proud to watch her grow and flourish in her 21-year career as a human resources technician at the College of Southern Nevada. He loved playing guitar, surfing, and riding motorcycles with his son Lance. He supported Lance in furthering his education and loved reading his books and scripts that Lance wrote. He was a loving grandpa, and influential in teaching and guiding the fundamentals of life, as a father figure to granddaughters, Ashlee and Stevie. His dedication to them was never ending and lead to the successes of their numerous softball accomplishments. He was a devoted husband to his wife Pat; they loved to travel and create unforgettable memories. Their love was undeniable and ever so present to any and all who knew their relationship. Many photos over the years holding each other loving, to the next photo, with their hands wrapped around each other’s throats. Ron’s passive and Pat’s aggressive, nature proves, opposites do attract. Their inner comedians brought laughter and joy to many. He was loved by many and had a profound impact with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all.

Ron was pre deceased by his mother Marion Ost, and father Edward Wallick. Brothers, Sam, Fred, Joe, and sisters Roseanne and Barbara.
