Obituary

Bettie Jo Marsh Roach of Goodyear, AZ died April 15, 2013 at the age of 88 years young.  Mrs. Roach was born Feb 20, 1925 in Phoenix, AZ to Claude and Laura Belle Medlock Marsh and attended Roosevelt Elementary and Phoenix Union High School.  Bettie Jo married John Roach on Dec 14, 1941 and spent the next few years out of state while John served in the Army during WWII.   In 1945 Bettie Jo and John returned to Arizona to begin their farming career in Litchfield Park through the Goodyear Farms Apprentice Program, and continued farming until retirement.  She also worked for the Dysart School District and was an avid genealogist who spent countless hours researching the family history.   She enjoyed many years of travelling and looked forward to visiting family across the country.  She is survived by her husband of 71 years John, one daughter Barbara McReynolds (Topper) of Wenden, AZ,  three grandchildren, Kim Woodhead (Daniel) of Goodyear, AZ,  Lisa Apolinar (Paul) of Litchfield Park, AZ, Tom McReynolds (Donna) of Scottsdale, AZ, five great-grandchildren, two sisters Bernice Kidd and Lois Jean Daniel and numerous nieces and nephews across America.  Private Services to be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix.  Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear.
