Obituary

Raymond S. Zavala of Cashion, AZ died June 9, 2017 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born March 26, 1929 in Superior, AZ to Paulino and Francisca Zavala. He served in the U.S. Army for two years in the Korean War. He worked for Lockheed Martin until he retired. He was a long time member of St Williams Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Cashion Chapter 14804. Raymond is survived by his wife, Jennie L Zavala; daughters, Lucy Z. Swanger, Virginia M. Zavala; son, Richard H. Zavala; brothers, Paul, John, Henry, and Gilbert Zavala; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Antony Zavala.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A funeral mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, June 16, 2017 at St William’s Catholic Church, 11025 W 3rd St, Cashion, AZ 85329. Interment will be at 11:30 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ.
