Obituary

Philip John Gitzinger, age 79, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away on August 20, 2020 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born on July 17, 1941 in Hartford, Wisconsin to Herbert Gitzinger and Kathleen Gitzinger. He spent his early school years in Beaverdam, Wisconsin where his wife, Pat Stark also grew up, and then continued his education at Marquette University and Arizona State University.

Philip was a partner of the KPMG Accounting Firm in charge of the western region. He was instrumental in providing the means to granting a little boy’s wish with the Make-a-Wish foundation. Philip was a proud father of four and a coach for his children’s baseball, softball and hockey teams. He was active with his local catholic church. “Small town boy makes good in corporate world.”

Philip is survived by his wife, Patricia Gitzinger; his daughters, Debra Reames and Kathryn Card (Michael); his sons, Thomas and Todd Gitzinger; his sister, Gail Swan (David); his sister-in-law in Wisconsin, Fran Beilfuss and he is also survived by his seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Kathleen Gitzinger.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 South Litchfield Road in Goodyear, Arizona. Burial services will be held at a later date in Oahu, Hawaii.
