Obituary

Paula Hickey Beck, age 46 of Buckeye, AZ died December 19, 2017 in Buckeye, AZ. She was born May 15, 1971 in Oak Lawn, IL to Arthur and Sharon Block. A graduate of St. Xavier University in Chicago, IL she was determined to make her mark in the world in spite of being born with a serious heart condition. She went on to get her SPHR and while working at ADP she was instrumental in creating a new business unit within the company and became the manager of the Midwest region. She was extremely tenacious and determined. Tired of Chicago winters she moved to Arizona in 2014 and loved the warmth and sunshine (even in the summer.)

She is survived by her husband, Chris Beck; parents, Arthur and Sharon Block; sister, Stacy Heidt; Godson, Dermot; Goddaughter, Grace Elizabeth; nephew Elliot, and nieces, Makenna, Siobhan, and Bridget. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Anna Block and Sally Turek; her grandfather, Bill Turek, her aunts, Evelyn Nemecek, Jean Naumczik, JoAnn Wolfel, and her cousin, Pamela Shanks.

A visitation will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111^th Street, Chicago Ridge, IL. A mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Linus Catholic Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn Il. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to St. Joseph Foundation, 350 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
