Obituary

Michael Robert Martinez, 39, of Phoenix Arizona passed away May 3, 2021 in Glendale Arizona. He was born on December 8, 1981 to Michael and Debra Martinez in Phoenix Arizona. He was a creative, intelligent, and loving person who will be missed every day by his parents and sister, and those fortunate enough to have known him.

Michael graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in mathematics. He was an artist in every sense of the word. Throughout his life, he created brilliant artwork, and was a writer of poems and short stories, a gift that started at a very early age. He was also a musician who excelled in playing the keyboard. He especially loved being with his family, snuggling with his dog Bonsai, gardening, watching the Phoenix Suns, cheering for his alma mater teams of the Arizona State University Sun Devils, reading, and bicycling all over the valley.

Michael is survived by his parents, Michael and Debra Martinez and his sister Jenna. He was laid to rest at West Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, AZ.
