Obituary

Rev. Boyd Lee Mefford, 94 of Avondale, AZ entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, April 25, 2014 in Glendale, AZ surrounded by his family.  He was born January 10, 1920 to Ervin Mefford and Lettie (Jolley) Mefford in Titusville, Florida.  He served in the Army Air Force in WWII as a 409 Medical Tech.  His decorations were American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.  He was an Evangelist and Ministered at Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church in Avondale.  He retired from Anderson Clayton after 30 years.  He was a Faithful Servant of the Lord his entire life.  He is preceded in death by his parents Ervin Mefford and Lettie Mefford and his four brothers Worth, Carroll, Alonzo, and Aubrey.  He is survived by his loving wife Lillian of 57 years that he called his “Angel”.  His son Stephen (Janinne), his daughters Susan Wood (Randy) and Lisa Mefford, two brothers Robert (CA) and Don (Ark).  Nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, May 2^nd at First Southern Baptist Church, 1001 N. Central Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323.  Funeral Services will be held at 10am  on Saturday, May 3^rd at First Southern Baptist Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.  Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com
