Obituary

Marvin A. Kleiman, age 82 of Schaumburg, IL died January 14, 2019 in Avondale, AZ.  He was born March 16, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the second of three children born to Louis and Carrie Kleiman.  Born and raised in Chicago, Marvin graduated from Delano Elementary School and Senn High School.  He owned a Shell gas station in Skokie, IL for several years.  Upon its sale, Marvin began working as manufacturer’s representative for an auto parts and accessories company, a job that he kept until his retirement.

Marvin was a car nut.  He prided himself on his mechanical ability which gave him the skill to fix anything.  He took good care of his cars, always making sure that they were well maintained.  He was a hard worker and often worked double shifts at the gas station to provide for his children and family.

Marvin had a great sense of humor.  He was a very direct person, a trait that took getting used to.  He was a good cook and after his retirement managed the day to day household chores for several years before Elaine retired.  This allowed him to spend a lot of time with his son, Jake.  He like fishing and had a boat with a friend on Lake Michigan as well as a pontoon boat for his family on Twin Lakes, WI.  Many of his best memories were spent on the water with family and friends.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Elaine Kleiman; daughter, Alison Rigsby; son, Scott Kleiman; sister, Barbara Barnett; brother, Howard Kleiman; and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son Jake Kleiman.
