Obituary

Liova Fernandez McGill, age 91 of San Antonio, TX died October 15, 2018, in Goodyear, AZ.  She was born September 28, 1927, in San Antonio, TX to Gorgonio and Salome Fernandez.  Liova “Josie” McGill lived a full life of love and dedicated herself to her family and friends.  Being a single mother to eight beautiful children for most of her life, she struggled but persevered to provide and care for her family.  She was a spiritual woman who loved God and her church and spoke often about her faith.  Liova also enjoyed having a good time and the horse races.  She was a committed lady who would help anyone in need to the best of her ability.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends as she leaves us now to enjoy the next phase of her life in Heaven with her Lord.

Liova is survived by her daughters, Eloisa Quintanilla, Mary Rigal, Irene Bush, Henrietta Garcia, and Darlene Cox; sons, George, Larry, and Jesse Quintanilla; sister Eva Rocha; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, two brothers, one son, and one grandson.

A visitation will begin at 10:15 am followed by a funeral service at 12:15 pm, Friday, October 19, 2018, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ  85338.  The funeral cortege will follow in procession to West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
