Obituary

Leeora Robinson (affectionately known as Lola) was born September 4, 1921, in Lake City, Mississippi to the union of Will and Annie Hudson.  She was preceded in death by her spouse (John, Sr.), son (John, Jr.), three sisters, four brothers and her parents.

Leeora and John were married on April 6, 1940, and to their union seven children were blessed, John, Jr. (Valerie), Alphonso (Florine), Kenneth, Eugene, Linda (Bruce), Michael (Lynnea), and Barry (Esther).

Alongside being a diligent loving mother and homemaker, she started her long-time career with the Chicago Police Department and worked there for over approximately 30 years.  She was a faithful friend and coworker to those who worked with her during her time of employment.

Leeora’s spiritual foundation started in Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Clinkscale.  She later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for many years and served under the leadership of Pastor Wilbur Daniels.  There she served on many auxiliaries.  She was the president of The Mississippi Club and sang with the Senior Choir.  After relocating to Goodyear, AZ she changed her membership to Pilgrim Rest Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alexis Thomas where she remained a faithful member.

During the afternoon hours on Monday, September 10, 2018, after 97 wonderful years, she departed this life.

To her family, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She was sweet, endearing and wonderful to those who knew her.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her children, Alphonso, Kenneth, Eugene, Michael, Barry, daughter Linda, and their spouses; one brother, Decell Hudson; 31 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will take place at 10:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ  85338.  The funeral cortege will follow in procession to Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85392.
