Obituary

Kevin Michael Lynch, age 67, of Buckeye, AZ died November 3, 2018, in Goodyear, AZ.  He was born June 27, 1951, in Rockville Center, NY, the youngest of two sons born to James and Martha Lynch.  He grew up in Franklin Square, NY and later moved to Suffolk County.  As a young man, Kevin played drums in a rock band.  He loved going to rock concerts at Fillmore East and other music venues in the area.  As his family responsibilities grew, he realized that he needed to focus on his family and gave his precious drum set to a young neighbor, but his love of music never ceased.  He would often be found drumming on tables and desks, making sure that the rhythm of the music was still a part of his being.

Kevin was employed as a union sheet metal worker, following in the footsteps of his father and brothers.   He married his wife, Frances Lynch on May 12, 1974.  They were married for 42 years and raised two children, Danielle and Michael.  They were a typical family, balancing sports schedules,  going to drive-in movies and spending hot summer days at the beach.  When Danielle married he was so proud to have a Marine as a son-in-law and he loved being a grandpa!

Kevin was an avid Mets and NY Giant’s fan and enjoyed attending their games.  When retirement came he and Fran decided to trade their familiar life in NY for the weather in AZ and moved to Buckeye.  Though far away, Kevin always kept in touch with his friends through Facebook and Classmates.  He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Spence (Shane); son, Michael Lynch; and grandchildren, Skyler and Brynlee Spence.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lynch, and brother, James Lynch.  A memorial service will be held at a later date with family and friends.
