Josette Lyman Kerr

Obituary

Josette Lyman Kerr was born on October 12, 1967 to Robert and Karen Lyman in Nephi, UT. She is the third of three children. She grew up in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School in 1985. She attended Dixie State University. She married Clayton Kerr in 1986. They would celebrate their 34th year anniversary in December.  They have two children they are very proud of.

Josette was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She diligently served in many different callings including the Young Women’s Program, Cub Scouts, and Relief Society. She loved to attend the temple and was continually working on the Kerr family history.

Over the years, Clay’s job took them on many adventures. They lived in ten states together. During these travels she made many life-long friends and was a gift in their lives.  She helped make ones’ burden lighter by listening without judgement.

She had various jobs during her life including a travel agent, a state tester, a homemaker, and an entrepreneur. Her hobbies included crocheting, making crafts, and genealogy.

She was often described as wise beyond her years and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She was devoted to family and friends. She was always serving others but found it more difficult to be served.  We have heard countless stories of how she has served and blessed the lives of others.

On August 27, 2020 surrounded by her family, Josette returned to her eternal home after an eight-month fight with breast cancer. We will miss her smile, wit, contagious laugh, and her positive attitude even during hard times.  We know she is at peace and her body will be made whole again (including her beautiful hair).

Josette is survived by her husband Clayton Kerr, daughter Miranda Greenhalgh (Michael), Morgan Kerr, grandson Easton Greenhalgh, mother Karen Lyman, sister Rochelle (John) Manglinong, sister-in-law Cindy (James) Lyman.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lyman; brother, James Lyman; and grandparents, Ray and Maxine Garlick and Joseph and Zetta Lyman.

Funeral services are to be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 25800 W. Southern Ave. in Buckeye, Arizona. Burial Services will be held at a later date in Nephi, Utah.
