Testa John

John Mark Testa, age 54, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away suddenly on Friday, August 17, 2018.  He was a graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.  He received his BS in Criminal Justice from West Chester University (PA).  He also attended Montgomery County Community College (PA).  Before relocating to Arizona, he worked as a case manager for the Montgomery County Juvenile Center in Pennsylvania.  Moving to Arizona in 2001, he worked as a Juvenile Case Supervisor for the State of Arizona.

John was an avid sports fan enjoying the Dallas Cowboys and Jimmie Johnson of NASCAR.  He relished in rooting on his Cowboys to five Super Bowl titles and Johnson to seven Monster Energy Cup trophies.  John enjoyed music playing the trombone and mellophone in high school and later the guitar and bass in his adulthood.  He was active in his high school’s music program, a single appearance in high school theater, and various church activities.  Growing up, John enjoyed restoring cars, participating in youth group at church, and visiting with family and friends.  He served as an adult volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America during his time in Pennsylvania.  He grew up as an active part of his home church (Evangel Assembly of God)  in Pennsylvania and most recently was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Christian Center in Avondale.

John is survived by his wife Debbie (McKay) Testa; a son, Jacob; and a daughter, Rebekah.  He was preceded in death by his father David F. Testa of Plymouth Meeting, PA and a step-father Fred H. Fricke of Norristown, PA.  Also, surviving are his mother Twila (Testa) Fricke of Norristown, PA; a brother David F. Testa of Kissimmee, FL; a sister Janet F. (Testa) Schafer of Collegeville, PA; nephews, a niece, and numerous friends.

A  public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 23rd  at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Christian Center, 11301 W Indian School Rd, Avondale, Arizona 85392 on Thursday starting at 6 PM.

Friends may make memorial contributions in John’s name to Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.

  2. Debbie, you and your children are in my thoughts and prayers. John was my cousin and we grew up together. His passing is such a big loss and heartache. He was loved by his entire family. We will miss him very much.
