Mr. John Loren Morningstar, 63, of Buckeye, Arizona died December 6, 2020 in Buckeye, Arizona. He was born August 9, 1957, to Albert and Naomi Morningstar in Phoenix, Arizona.  He was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, cherished brother, and faithful minister of God’s word.

He served faithfully in his church, Buckeye First Assembly of God, and through his partnerships in ministry with Buckeye Outreach Ministry and ICALM ministries.  Whether he was serving his community in Buckeye, Arizona or internationally in Africa or Mynamar one message was clear—God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Naomi Morningstar.

A private family service will be held on Monday, December 21st with a public memorial service to be held after the holidays are over.  The family suggests that donations be made to ICALM ministries in order to benefit the Edu-Care Junior School in Uganda, Kenya.  Donations can be made by going to the secure website www.ICALMonline.org or through PayPal at PayPal.me/ICALMonline with the memo “John Morningstar Uganda School”.  All donations are tax deductible and will go to help the school, that John had on his heart at the time of his passing, buy updated equipment and land in order to be able to fall into compliance with local government codes and re-open after the pandemic.

  1. Such a great friend, mentor, and all around nicest guy. Loved God with complete fierceness. Left this world praising God and STILL telling the devil he is defeated! What an awesome man of God. Thank you for all you’ve taught me.

  2. I love this man. I met him at a little Pentecostal church in Buckeye, AZ. It had to be close to 10 years ago. He helped me walk through and understand a lot of things I was going through at that time. He treated me like one of his own and I got to serve with him on the mission field. Which was an answered prayer of mine for years. I’m gonna miss you while we are apart but I know I will be reunited with you again.

  3. John Morningstar, the most non-judgmental person I ever met. May you rest in peace John and know you will always be loved and missed.

  5. John you will be missed! You always said you loved us when you would leave our home. You are now in the arms of the Jesus you loved, preached and lived. Our family will always love and miss you. Our Friday nights in the park will never be the same. Until we meet again save a spot for us at Jesus feet. We will continue to pray for your family.!

  6. John – you were a sweet soul, always kind to Ken and I. We grieve your loss, but we know that you are nestled in the arms of our God. Your example of complete and utter surrender and love to our Lord Jesus Christ will live on in all of us.

  7. Thank you God for bringing such a soldier into our lives. We will meet again. Thank you John for leading us closer to Christ. Hugs to Mary.

  8. John, God Bless you brother. I will miss you and loved how much you dedicated yourself to the Lord. Thank you for being a friend and a past coworker. I’ve been the best man in two weddings you did. Guess what they both are still married which is a measure of your holiness. Thank you John and I pray for your entire family to ease their pain of losing a good holy One – You.
