Obituary

Mr. John Loren Morningstar, 63, of Buckeye, Arizona died December 6, 2020 in Buckeye, Arizona. He was born August 9, 1957, to Albert and Naomi Morningstar in Phoenix, Arizona.  He was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, cherished brother, and faithful minister of God’s word.

He served faithfully in his church, Buckeye First Assembly of God, and through his partnerships in ministry with Buckeye Outreach Ministry and ICALM ministries.  Whether he was serving his community in Buckeye, Arizona or internationally in Africa or Mynamar one message was clear—God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Morningstar; daughters Carrie Martin, Christina Chadwick, and Marissa Morningstar-Lerma; sister, Esther Wax, and his 10 grandchildren-Ellen, Teara, Jason, Josiah, Shawn, Isaiah, Allison, Makenzie, Charlotte, and Iain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Naomi Morningstar.

A private family service will be held on Monday, December 21st with a public memorial service to be held after the holidays are over.  The family suggests that donations be made to ICALM ministries in order to benefit the Edu-Care Junior School in Uganda, Kenya.  Donations can be made by going to the secure website www.ICALMonline.org or through PayPal at PayPal.me/ICALMonline with the memo “John Morningstar Uganda School”.  All donations are tax deductible and will go to help the school, that John had on his heart at the time of his passing, buy updated equipment and land in order to be able to fall into compliance with local government codes and re-open after the pandemic.

  1. John may very well have been the kindest man I have ever known. A precious sincere brother in Christ.

  2. Jill Marti says:

John, we miss you so much and think of you often. There is no replacement for you and the mentor you were to Daniel and I. We reread your messages to us seeking guidance and direction where we have been heading since we left AZ. God is directing our steps but there is a void and longing for the wisdom you shared. We know you have won the race and oh what an amazing place heaven is, even more now that your there. What a gift you were to this world. I have not known anyone else as genuine and kind as you. Love you forever!
