Obituary
Jesse M. Card III of Avondale, Arizona passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family on April 27, 2023. He was born on May 30, 1959 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to Jesse M. II and Taeko Card.
The family moved to Avondale, where he lived the majority of his life. He graduated from Agua Fria High School in 1977. Being an avid outdoorsman, he spent most of his spare time hunting and fishing. He married the love of his life, Wendy in 2016.
Jesse is survived by his wife Wendy Card, his children Michael Cadena, Jesse M. IV (Renee) Card, Adam Card, Tasha (Bobby) Ellsworth and Christopher Card; his precious dogs Skoshi and Little Skoshi; four siblings; his best friend Ken Murray; 16 grandchildren and one on the way; two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Thompson Funeral Chapel.

I first met Jesse (and Debbie) in the late 1980’s when he worked on Luke Air Force Base. I was honored when he asked me to care for his children, Jesse IV and Adam. I adored those little boys and grew to love them as my own. I have never met a more affectionate Father – he loved his sons and wasn’t afraid to show his love and devotion to them. He would often drop in to spend a few minutes with them during his work day – usually at lunch time. Being a Christian, I encouraged the children to say a blessing before they ate their lunch and asked Jesse if this was ok with Debbie and him. Jesse reassured me that they were fine with this and that he too was a born-again Christian. He has now returned home; to kneel before our Lord and Saviour; to enter the kingdom of Heaven and be reunited with loved ones that have gone before him – What a glorious reunion it must have been.
The word of God says that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal.
My prayer is that as we reminisce about his life ( the joy he shared and the love he lavished on us all ) we will remember the experiences shared with him are uniquely ours to forever cherish and hold safely in our hearts –
Memory is one gift from God that death does not destroy –
I hope your memories of Jesse will sustain you and give you joy even as you grieve.

Well Jessie my old friend that I knew for at least 50 years, I hope you’re in a better place and not sick and in pain anymore, I came to your memorial @ Thompsons to say goodbye but everyone had already left, I’ll never forget you was a very special person who had a lot of talent making different forms of art and building Race Trucks like that old white chevy short bed with a suped up 283 engine 12 to 1 pop up pistons, and a Muncie heavy duty four-speed Rock Crusher transmission with a Hurst shifter, thanks for letting me drive it a time or two, that’s the only street truck I ever seen could pop a wheelie, also for the record I’m sorry I was too sick and in pain to visit with you that one time about 6 years ago when you came out to my place, I had been up all night hurling with a cracking headache and could barely hold my head up. I’m going to miss you coming out picking oranges off my tree whether they are ripe or not, I don’t know if you heard about the bad accident I was in that broke my neck totaled my Toyota truck and almost died was paralyzed couldn’t walk for a while in the hospital for a month so I’m not doing to good either and soon might break on through to the other side with you.
