Obituary
James L. Harris Jr, 89, of Goodyear, Arizona died June 8, 2021 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born August 30, 1931 in Phoenix, Arizona to James L. Harris Sr. and Bessie Harris.
James served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after serving from 1951 to 1953 as a Pfc(T).
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Harris, his daughters, Cheryl Patton (Goodyear), and Carrie Hipskind (Goodyear), step-children, Steve Messing (Pensacola, FL), John Messing (Pensacola, FL), and Shannon Miller (Henderson, NV), brother, Robert Harris (Huntsville, TX), 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Harris in 2010.
A private service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
The family suggests that donations be made to American Cancer Society.

I love you dad. You are with Jesus now and completely healed. I’m sure you are being welcomed by your mom and Dennis. I can’t imagine the joyful reunion you are having. We will all celebrate together one day. God is so gracious and good. ❤️

In later years we didn’t see a lot of each other but as my very favorite cousin we had wonderful times when we were young. Love to all of Jim’s family. Especially my love to Karen and all of the family. Turned 85 this week so I’m probably going to be meeting Jim before long in that beautiful kingdom we so look forward to meeting all of those that we love so much. Love to all.
