Elvin was a good person who gave of himself through service to others in hopes of making their lives a bit better. Unfortunately, he died too soon/quickly. However, his untimely departure was not out of keeping with his nature. I say this because when he was ready to leave any kind of event or gathering he would just get up and go, regardless if those with him were ready to leave then or not. As a big brother he carried out that role throughout his life, continuing to think of me as the little sister who needed to be watched over regardless of how old I was. His death has left an empty spot in my life and the lives of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his loyal and faithful canine companion-Jake, as well as his friends and neighbors. It’s hard to have to say goodbye, but I know that his spirit will live on in our memories of the precious time we had with him.

Elvin will be missed. Les and I have warm recollections of the conversations we had when Elvin stayed with us during our 60th AHS class of 1955 reunion. Our prayers are with your family.
