Obituary

Eilleen Lucille Pena, age 52 of Goodyear, AZ died February 19, 2020, in Goodyear, AZ. She was born April 5, 1967, in Redondo Beach, CA to Kern Forbes and Betty Shiveley. Eilleen was employed in a variety of positions. She worked for many years in the grocery industry, often as the helpful person at the Deli counter. Her work as an aide at the St. Madeleine Sophie Center, serving adults with developmental disabilities, allowed her caring heart to shine through. She also worked as an optometrist assistant and as a sales representative for Gold Canyon candles. But she considered the time she spent as a stay-at-home wife and mother the most important occupation that she had.

Eilleen loved being outdoors and taking hikes in the desert. She adored animals and liked crafting. She began her day by studying the Bible and often kept a running conversation with God by writing in her journals. Her days were focused on helping others. She lived her daily life through the love of God.

Eilleen is survived by her husband, Norm Pena; daughters, Vickie Herrera, and Savannah Pena; sons, Keith Fejeran, and Cody Pena; mother, Betty Shiveley; sister, Susan Williams; and six grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. The family suggests that donations be made to the Virginia G. Eilleen was my forever best friend. She honestly had the purest heart of anyone i’ve ever met. She ALWAYS put everyone else first & was absolutely THE most selfless person i’ve ever known. She will be my guardian angel i’m sure. I miss her voice & her beautiful smile oh so much! But i’m happy she’s not in pain anymore. She was a tough cookie & i doubt i could handle the pain she went thru. She was excited to meet God. Well, you got a good one, please take good care of her for us until we see her again. I love you…143,ME
