Obituary

Mr. Curtis Mark Malaise, 52, of Litchfield Park, Arizona died October 6, 2021. He was born February 13, 1969 in Ottawa, Illinois to Curtis Merle Malaise and Helen Ann Malaise. He was predeceased by his father Curtis Merle Malaise and his granddaughter Reia Elyse Dungan.
Curtis is survived by his daughter Morgan Elyse Dungan and her husband Douglas Anthony Dungan, his mother Helen Ann Malaise, three grandsons Caleb Malaise, Axl Dungan, and Damien Dungan. He also leaves behind uncles, aunts, cousins, and many great friends.
Curtis spent his early childhood years in Illinois with his mother, father, and extended family. He and his parents moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1983 where he attended and graduated from Maryvale High School. He then attended Long Technical Institute and graduated in 2005 with an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. He later chose to begin long-haul truck driving, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He continued being a truck driver until his death. His other interests included off-roading, a love of music, and playing pool. Curtis brought joy and laughter to many and was always willing to extend a helping hand of friendship. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

I’d like the memory of me
To be a happy one,
I’d like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
Times and bright sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun of happy memories I leave
When my life is done.

The family suggests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
