Obituary

Craig Anthony Stanton has passed away at the age of 56 years old on October 2, 2022.  Craig was born in Mountain View, CA on March 20, 1966 at 10:24 in the morning.

Craig is survived by his parents Bob and Lee Ann Stanton, his wife Patia Stanton and his children Brookelynne Warra, Riika Vaara, Madilynn Stanton and Michaela Stanton, grandchildren Zoe Padilla, George Thomas and Rabbit Vaara.   In addition, he is survived by his older brothers Eric Stanton and Brent Stanton and little sister Susan Jeffer, along with many nieces and nephews they gave him; Stephen, Chandell, Shawnae, Shayla, and Ian. Even still this list of loved ones doesn’t address the many family and friends that he adopted into his life. His Castillo/Mota family, his Vertin/Jensen family, and the many friends of Bill W. he met along the way.

Craig was a VERY devoted father and husband and a beloved grandfather.  His life’s focus was extreme dedications to his wife and family. There is nothing Craig would not do for those that he loved and those in need including being the local handy man, living true to his desire to help and support the communities that he built over the course of his lifetime. Craig loved hiking, photography, fly fishing, truckin’, and most recently was heavily into reading life sciences. Craig was an impressive problem solver and no home improvement project was too big. He found his spirituality was expressed best in his service to others. If we can try to find comfort anywhere during these trying times, it is knowing that Craig brought a little more love into this world and it is forever a better place because of it…

Craig was proud of his early years serving as a firefighter/first responder, but found his true calling on the road as a local commercial truck driver, and maintained this dedication to literally building the world around him over the last 33 years.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 12th at Thompson Funeral Chapel located at 926 S Litchfield Rd.  Goodyear AZ 85338 with a reception to follow at the West Valley Fellowship Club 919 North Dysart Road, Avondale AZ.
