Obituary

On May 5th, 2023 Corey Thomas McClain went into the arms of our heavenly father. He passed away in Phoenix Arizona at the age of 28. He was born March 25, 1995 in Mansfield, Ohio.

Corey is survived by his loving family, including: Mother and step-father Tara Marie Johnson and Jeremy Parker of Mineloa, Texas; Son Jaxson Reed of Arkansas; Brother Hunter Allen Wright of Mineola, Texas; Grandmother Shelley Denise Holley (who loved him dearly) of Grove City, Ohio; Grandfather Harry Johnson of Ohio; Great-grandparents John and Donna Holley of Orient, Ohio; Uncle Brian Johnson and family of Traverse City, Michigan; Aunt April Holley and John Mark Holley, and Aunt Jessica Johnson and family of Columbus, Ohio as well as other aunts and uncles from Columbus, Ohio and West Virginia; Great-aunt Saundra and Terry Sanders and cousin Lori Ray of Phrump, Nevada; Dennis and Rachel Parker of Kingman, Arizona and the Parker family of Hawkins, Texas; and Wonderful family friend Erin Tatum who always loved and encouraged Corey.

Corey was proceeded in death by our very close family friend, and his namesake, Thomas Schlosser of Mansfield, Ohio, his paternal grandmother Rosa Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, cousins Ashley Holley, John Holley, Jr, Troy Smith and Kimberly Lenhart of Ohio, Great-grandparents Margaret and James S Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Great-grandparents Ray and Madeline Holley of Columbus, Ohio and Great-great uncle Paul Klouse of Ohio.

Corey loved music and animals, especially dogs. He never met a stranger and would talk to everyone. His smile would light up a room.

Corey was an organ donor by his choice and we are so proud he saved lives.

Corey will be cremated in Phoenix Arizona by Thompson Funeral Chapel of Goodyear, Arizona. Family will have a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.

  1. I’m Corey grandma Shelley. My heart just hurts so much. I’m so grateful I seen you last October. You gave me the biggest hug, smiled, kissed me and told me you loved me and I did the same. I will never ever forget you baby. You were my first grandson. Your mom hunter and I will miss you.
