Obituary

Carole Jae Lennartson Babbitt, a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother, a resident of Pebble Creek in Goodyear, Arizona, passed away peacefully at age 78, early Saturday, November 14, 2020.

Stricken with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Carole had spent the past 13 months in a beautiful assisted living home in Surprise, Arizona – visited nearly everyday by her loving husband, John.

Carole was born to Clifford and Joyce Mottenldi on January 16, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She was actively involved in her high school as a spirited Cheerleader and attended the Minneapolis Vocational Technical Institute after graduation. Carole followed with a career at the Minneapolis Shiner’s Lodge for over ten years, as an accountant.

John Anthony Babbitt became the love of her life and they married on a Caribbean cruise ship in June 1987.

They moved to the Pebble Creek Resort Community in Goodyear, Arizona in 2003. Carole had many friends and was involved in several activities. She loved to party and dance. They traveled the west with other PC RV’ers in their motor coach for many years.

Carole was known for her witty sense of humor and was able to put a smile on anyone’s face. She touched many and will be missed by all.

Mrs. Babbitt is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Anthony Babbitt, Goodyear, Arizona, two brothers; Lee Lennartson, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Guy Lennartson, Mahtomedi, Minnesota, three sons; Brian Harrod, Butte, Montana, Bruce (Lisa) Harrod, Eagan, Minnesota, and Jim (Debbie) Harrod, White Bear Lake, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren ad 14 great-grandchildren. Carole was preceded in death by her father, Clifford, her mother, Joyce Mottenldi and her brother, Terry Lennartson.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at 11:00am at the Christ Presbyterian Church, 925 North Sarival Avenue, Goodyear, Arizona. A luncheon gathering will follow in the church auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the Babbitt family requests that donations be made in Carole’s name to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Foundation c/o Phoenix Shiner’s Lodge, 552 North 40th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85008-6441.
