Obituary

Candelario Valdez Canedo, age 87, of Avondale, Arizona passed away on January 5, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born February 2, 1933 to Pedro Valdez Lizarraga and Mariana Canedo Valdez in Cacalotan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

He worked for the Ferrocarril del Pacifico, (Union Pacific Railroad) from 1949 to 1988 in Mexico as a supervisor.

He is survived by his spouse, Maria Armida Corrales de Valdez, his daughters; Ana Isabel Valdez, Armida Valdez, and Elisa Valdez, his sons; Victor M. Valdez, Jesús D. Valdez, Mario P. Valdez, Uriel Valdez, Candelario Valdez, Francisco Valdez, and Gilberto Valdez. He is also survived by his thirty-seven grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Felipe Valdez.

A visitation will be held at 9:00AM on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 South Litchfield Road, in Goodyear, Arizona. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM following the visitation. Burial services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren St. in Phoenix, Arizona.
