Obituary

Antonio Castro Gonzalez, age 52 of Avondale, AZ died March 21, 2020, in Avondale, AZ. He was born January 31, 1968, in Valle De Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico, the oldest of six children born to Isidro Castro Martinez and Luisa Gonzalez Morales. Antonio was an attentive older brother and helped to raise his younger brothers and sisters. He worked in construction helping to build mobile homes. Always happy and laughing, Antonio easily made friends wherever he went. He was a good friend and was always willing to help whenever help was needed. His jokes and goofy actions brought smiles to all around him.

As a father, Antonio was strict, but fair and always loving. He held high standards of conduct for his children and helped to guide them in their choices. He always let them know that what they chose to do in life didn’t matter as long as they were happy in what they were doing. Antonio loved to be outside cooking carne asada and cleaning his cars. He enjoyed taking walks around town. He was the best grandpa and loved to take his grandchildren to the park and buy them ice cream. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Antonio is survived by his daughters, Rosalinda Castro-Gonzalez, Analee Castro-Gonzalez, and Kimberli Castro-Gonzalez; sons, Eduardo Castro-Gonzalez, and Marc Anthony Castro-Gonzalez; parents, Luisa Gonzalez DeCastro and Isidro Castro Martinez; sisters, Martha Juarez-Castro, Marina Castro, and Georgina Castro-Hernandez; brother, Mario Castro; and six grandchildren, Mia, Jayden, Jadiel, Uvaldo, Manuel, and Kayla.

A visitation will be held at 10: 30 am followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road Avondale, AZ 85392. Condolences for the family may be left below.
