Obituary

Annabelle L. Brabant, 73, of Avondale, Arizona died July 27, 2022. She was born January 4, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to Richard Swiger and Rosemary Shayotovitch.

Annabelle has always been devoted to her family. She helped raise her seven brothers and sisters, and was an incredible mother, grandmother and sister. She worked hard to support her children. She raised a wonderful family that included two daughters, a son, and a step-son. Her heart was so full of love for all people.

Annabelle spent the last 34 years living in Arizona. She worked hard, but also enjoyed life. She could often be found having a good time with her children, nieces, and nephews. Together they would drink her favorite frozen cappuccinos, enjoy a frozen Creamie ice cream, or just spend time with together. Annabelle was known for her love of karaoke. Her favorite songs included “Downtown” by Petula Clark, “5 minutes” by Lorrie Morgan, “Slow Hand” by The Pointer Sister, “Have Mercy” and “Grandpa” by The Judds. And for about ten years, Annabelle would dress up as Mrs. Claus for her kids, grandkids, and great nieces and nephews. She also loved Marilyn Monroe and butterflies.

Annabelle is survived by her daughters, Tracey Owens and Richelle Robles, son, Richard Dean Owens, Jr., step-son, Bruce Pellitier, sisters, Rosemarie Majors, Jeannette Starry Ross, and Debbie Starry and brother, David Swiger. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Cindy Athas, and brother James Starry.

Aunt Tina – I feel I can relate best to you for your love of people and entertaining and just wanting to take care of people and make them smile. This world won’t be the same without you in it, but I know heaven gained a true angel when you walked through the gates. We’ll miss you! I love you.
