Obituary

Alan Jerome Gross was born at the end of Spring 1974 in Phoenix Arizona. Alan enjoyed skateboarding but became a talented cross-country and track athlete in high school and college. He studied art but earned his college degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

An avid bike rider and hiker, Alan loved the Pacific North West and the Sonoran Desert. Kind, compassionate and understanding, he helped many folks who struggled with addiction and / or mental illness. He was immersed in discovering new music and loved science fiction.

After struggling with bouts of his own illness for many years, Alan eventually said goodbye to this world March 25, 2021. His loving family will love and honor Alan for his strength in confronting adversity and most of all, the love he gave to his parents, siblings, nieces, friends, and his companion dog Dora.

Remembrances of Alan can be added to the online memory book at Thompson’s Funeral Chapel in Avondale AZ. A small, private Celebration of Life will be held on May
29th in Wickenburg Arizona.

Alan would love for any donations to go to NAMI, National Public Radio or any organization working toward the restoration of the Natural World.
