Alaine Claire Myers

Alaine “Laney” Myers, age 84 of Goodyear, AZ passed away August 29, 2023 wrapped in the love of her family. She was born March 6, 1939 in Menominee, Michigan to Alfred and Dorothy Millette.
Laney met the love of her life, Richard, while he was stationed at Luke Air Force Base. They married on July 1, 1961 and enjoyed a beautiful 54 years together before his passing in 2016. Richard and Laney were wonderful parents of two sons, Steve Myers and Barry Myers, and one daughter, Karen Myers. Laney was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who always stood by her family and her unconditional love created an incredibly close-knit family. Her loving soul, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh brightened the day of anyone blessed to know her. Laney was a loving grandmother and enjoyed watching over her grandson, Joshua Myers, from the moment he was born. They enjoyed hanging out together, playing games, doing puzzles, and watching cartoons. Throughout his life, she helped instill in him the love for God and family and character that has made him the man he is today. Laney was a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas and served the community as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul ministry and as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound.
Laney is survived by her son, Steve Myers, daughter, Karen Myers, sisters, Toddy Mulvey and Kathy Delwiche. She has one grandson, Joshua Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Myers, her beloved son, Barry Myers, and sisters Marilyn Steffen and Joan Pfromm.
A visitation will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday September 7, 2023 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday September 8, 2023 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Aunt Laney had a great sense of humor. She was a fun person. We will miss her. Elaine and Mark
