His career included work in radio, television, politics, and Emergency Planning.  He was a news correspondent for WCAX-TV in Burlington Vermont, Secretary of Civil and Military Affairs and Press Secretary to Governor Snelling of Vermont, and most recently worked as a Radiological Emergency Planner for the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency. He traveled abroad extensively providing training to foreign countries on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Michael lived with brain cancer for two years with amazing grace. His sense of humor and grit gave strength to his family and all who met him.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, his children Peter (wife Brenda), Jaime (husband Darren) and Kelly, his grandchildren Mariah, Rebecca, Gabriel, Mark, Morgan, Dylan, Jacob, Emelia, Lauren, Claudia, and Ethan, and pets Caesar, Sid, and Pounce. Michael was predeceased by his son Brian, former wife Carol Hanson, and his parents Edith and Jack Sinclair.

A private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Michael asked that contributions be made to Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, Special Olympics, or any animal rescue league.
