Marjorie Goetz

September 27, 1932 - November 21, 2023

It is with solemn sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie Goetz. “Margie” passed away on November 21, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Lige and Amelia (nee Zarker) Mitchell.

Margie graduated from West Denver High School and received her certificate for Administrative Assistant shortly after. Later on, she moved to California. In her lifetime, she worked for several companies including Xerox, Lockheed, and Aerospace. She lived in Colorado, California, Oregon and Arizona during her lifetime.

Margie was very musically talented, and in her younger years enjoyed playing the organ. She spent her retired years completing puzzles, shopping, and playing piano. Despite her remarkable age, Margie was spry and loved to work in her garden babying her roses and hydrangeas. Margie also loved fashion, which helped keep her connected to her granddaughters and the latest styles. She had a passion for crochet and her love can still be felt in every stitch.

Margie’s greatest joy though, was her grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching them how to care for her roses and just spending time with them. She loved to cook for her family and passed down some amazing recipes. They remember her with a laugh as big as her personality and as a strong, but kind-hearted, soul who would bring a smile to everyone she met. She was also known for saying “God Love It” all the time. She was a bright spot in the world and will be deeply missed.

Margie is survived by her three children: Barbara Marchand, Gerold (June) Goetz, and James (Teresa) Goetz, grandchildren Tim (Tonya) Marchand, Lisa (Adam) Crowder, Lori (Keith) Kephart, Jeremy Marchand, Kristine (John) Thompson, Nicole Goetz, Bernadette (Kristopher) Esack, Veronica (Dale) Sifferman, and Erika (Christian) Perez-Wilson. She is also survived by eight precious “God Love It” great-grandchildren, her extended family, and friends.

Services are being planned for Spring 2024 in Colorado.
