Lawrence “Larry” Hurley Heisler, 88, of Tonopah, AZ passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at home.  He was born January 6, 1923 in Smithland, Woodbury Co., Iowa to Earl and Josephine Rosilla (Ryan) Heisler. 

 Mr. Heisler was in the United States Army. He was an Iron worker in tower erecting for communications.  In Iowa he attended Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.  He was a member of American Legion Post 64, Sioux City, Iowa, a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes “I” Club, and a member of Iron Workers Local 48.  He moved to Arizona in 1961.  He owned Arizona Tower Erection Co. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Tonopah Valley Association.

 Mr. Heisler is survived by his wife Doris Mae (Reynolds) Heisler; daughters Karlin “Candi” Renee (Heisler) Devereaux and Diana Lenore (Heisler) Nichols; sons Larry Lee Heisler, Richard Earl Heisler, John Benjamin Heisler, Clarence “Clark” Berdette Heisler and Shane Patrick Heisler.  He is also survived by his sister Josephine Rosilla Weaver, 35 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 

 He was preceded in death by sisters Blanche Lenora, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Gifford, Frances “Fanny” Pedersen, Bessie Cecelia Gifford, Myrtle Odessa Wright, Mamie Bernice Murad, and Edith Marie McCombs; brothers Ralph, Clarence, Elmer and Earl as well as his parents and grandparents William and Mary P. Ryan and Henry and Elizabeth (Maynard) Heisler.    

 Public visitation will take place Friday, February 18, 2011 at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ 85338 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with the service to begin at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow at Greenwood-Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix with military honors.

 Memorials may be sent in his honor to the non-profit of your choice.
