Elizabeth C. Gutierrez, 70, died a happy and peaceful death. She entered into her eternal life December 17, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born in Canada and came to the United States to join the United States Air Force at Selfridge, Michigan. There she met her soldier husband, Ysidro. They later married and relocated in their Volkswagen bus to Arizona, where she remained the rest of her life. Elizabeth became a Registered Nurse and worked many years for Boswell Memorial Hospital. She spent her retirement years traveling, relaxing, enjoying the arts, and gardening. Her interests were in the arts, classical music, estate sales, Peter Sellers movies, reading, all things military, cooking and good wine.
She is survived by her spouse of 47 years, Ysidro; her children, Raymond, Theresa and Andrew; her sister, Susanna; her daughter-in-laws, Graciela and Nancy; five grandchildren and large number of grand-pets.
Mass will be held at ST. John Vianney Catholic Church, Goodyear, AZ, on Friday December 23 at 10:00am. Burial service will be private. The Gutierrez family is grateful and gives thanks to all the families and friends who offered their prayers and love and support to Elizabeth in her time of need. The Gutierrez family is also grateful for the loving care and comfort provided to Elizabeth and her family by Hospice of the Valley during her final days.
