With great sadness, Douglas Charles Henry passed from this life on October 3, 2023. He is at peace with the Lord. Doug was 65 years old.Doug was born on December 31, 1957, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was the son of Houston Devon and Margaret Louise Craig Henry of Fredericksburg, Tx. After graduating high school in Fort Towson Ok, Doug entered the military and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1976 to 1984. Among his service awards is a Navy Unit Commendation for outstanding heroism in action against the enemy and a Navy Expeditionary Medal for engagement in operations against armed opposition on foreign territory. Doug retired from the Arizona Public Services company in 2012 after a long career working at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Doug is survived by his loving family … wife Nance Henry, sister Nancy Sue Feldt (Brent), brother Thomas Craig Henry (Jeannette), brothers-in-law James Donald Chastain … Don (Jenny) and Edwin Milford Chastain III … Eddie (Susan), uncle Edward L. Ellis, numerous cousins, and many nephews and nieces and their families. Doug is preceded in death by his father Houston Devon Henry, mother Margaret Louise Craig Henry, brothers Richard Devon Henry and John Houston Henry, sister Barbara Ann Henry and stepson Joshua Lee Bryant. A Celebration of Life will be held in Doug’s honor on October 12, 2023, at the Old Pueblo Restaurant in Litchfield Park, Az. The Memorial Park Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, Ok. will be the site for a memorial service on October 21, 2023. Final burial services held in Anderson, S.C. on October 28, 2023, and are being handled by the Standard Funeral Home. Mass will be held for Doug at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with graveside services at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Doug was a man greatly admired and loved by his family and friends. He will be missed.
