Obituary

Virginia “Ginger” Deem Cunliffe, nee Monroe, of Litchfield Park, died January 4, 2011 three months shy of her 90th birthday. Ginger was born on April 4, 1921 in Wilkinsburg, PA and at 6 months of age her family moved to Daytona Beach, FL.  She returned to the Pittsburgh area in the early 1940’s to earn a living, and she promptly earned a husband!  Hers was a grand life, living and traveling around the world with her husband of 56 years, Frederick R. Cunliffe, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Ginger moved to Litchfield Park from Houston, TX in 2003 to live with her daughter and family.  Being embedded in a family much like the one she raised brought her much entertainment and happiness at the end of her life.  She is survived by sons Frederick R. Cunliffe III and wife Carol, F. Randall Cunliffe and wife Rose, daughter Ellen G. Heather and husband John, grandchildren Erika Cunliffe, Ricky Cunliffe, Stacy Cunliffe Elarmo, Heather Cunliffe, Jason Cunliffe and Alex, Zane and Kayleigh Heather, greatgrandchildren Sage Elarmo and Zico Cunliffe.

Her memorial service will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 400 S. Old Litchfield Rd. with a reception to follow.  Pastor Gae Chalker will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Ginger’s memory to either St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 400 S. Old Litchfield Park, AZ 85340 or to Arizona Talking Book Library (they supply audio books free of charge to the blind), 1030 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, AZ 85008.
