Cecil Daly of Buckeye, Arizona passed away July 26, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born July 22, 1944 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Thomas and Ethel (Flanagan) Daly, both of whom predeceased him. Cecil was also preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Daly and Margaret Kelm, brother Jim Daly, godson Michael Reiser, and son-in-law Doug Hans.

Cecil leaves behind his wife Mary Ann Daly, children Vicki (Richard) Carney, Terry (Bonnie) Daly, Randy (Maureen) Daly, Elizabeth Hans, and Jonathan Daly, and his siblings Marie Reiser, Tom Daly, Ken Daly, Don Daly, Leo Daly, Carol Williams, Ruth Elderbrook, and Rita Simon. Cecil is also survived by nine grandchildren: James, Andrea, Tabitha, Cassie, Nicholas, Katelyn, Connor, Brayden, and Kylee, six great-grandchildren; Bethany, Dmitry, Eve, Logan, Violette, and Dianna, a large extended family, and many friends.

Cecil was a devout Catholic and was a member of the St. Henry Men’s Group. He was also a 4th Degree and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in LaPorte, Indiana.

Cecil loved spending time with his family, and he adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was passionate about cooking and baking for others. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. If the Packers were on TV, he was watching, and if they weren’t playing, he was probably watching highlights of the games. His sense of humor was great and he loved to see others laugh. His smile and love for life and God will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30pm, Wednesday, August 2 at Thompson Funeral in Goodyear. The Scripture Service and Rosary will begin at 7:30pm led by Deacon Roy Drapeau. A funeral mass led by Father William Cosco will be held at 10:30AM, Thursday, August 3 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Buckeye. Burial will follow at 1pm at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the St. Henry Catholic Church building fund or the First Way Pregnancy Center.

  1. Lew Kyes says:

I wondered what become of him. He was my boss at LP Hospital in the early 1970’s in the dietary department. Probably the best boss I ever had in my life. Rest in peace boss. Prayers to the family.

  2. Patti Scalf says:

Mr. Daley baked my wedding cake back in 1974. He was such a wonderful person. He will surely be missed.

  3. Mr. Daly gave me my first job as a high school student at LaPorte Hospital. It was such an in-depth interview that it became the model for me for job interviews the rest of my life! I am now 60. He was a good role model and I still remember his kindness.
