Obituary

Janice Darlene Bracken-Contreras passed away April 15, 2012 in Phoenix.  She was born September 23 in Tulsa, OK to Jack and Mickey Bruner.  She had a masters in social work and worked in that field for many years.  She both volunteered and worked with the March of Dimes organization as well as for domestic violence shelters.  She loved to travel and was working in mental health at Sunbridge Estrella in Avondale.  She was married November 18, 1996 to Jose Contreras in Reno, NV.  She is survived by her husband Jose Contreras, her daughters Shawna Lynn Henry and Constance Ellen Lippincott, her son Donald Craig Bracken, her sister Linda Zierke and brother Dewey “Butch” Bruner, 4 grand children and 1 great grandchild.  Services for Janice will be in Longmont, CO at Ahlberg Funeral Home.  She will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery.

  1. I just saw Janice’s obituary, have been trying to find her for years. We worked together at a group home. She was a lovely lady and I am so sad to hear of her death.
