Obituary
Thomas Edmond Allen of Phoenix, AZ died March 9, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born January 13, 1933 in Ajo, AZ to Benjamin E. and Myrtle E. Allen. Thomas served in the US Air Force from 1952 – 1956. He was a member of Gideons International and a Life Member and Golden Eagle Member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Allen; daughters, Genell Dawson (Clyde) and Lynn Snow (Stuart); sons, Thomas, Jr. (Donna), Harry, and Hugh Allen (Pam); 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Myrtle Allen and brother, Benjamin S. Allen.
A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. A viewing will be held at 9:30 am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Desert Springs Community Church, 14440 W. Indian School Road, Goodyear, AZ. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The family suggests that donations be made to The Gideons International.

Allen through our fellowship at Desert Springs Community Church and a growing friendship through daily interactions. Our prayers for God’s peace to the Allen family and we are honored to have known Tom. He was a true “Son of Arizona”.

I have known Tom as an appraiser for over 25 years. We worked together on the initial appraisal regulation bill for AZ. He supported me to go on to the AZ Board of Appraisal. He was always supportive of the appraisal profession and trying to make it better. I could always count on him for help on any issues. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, especially Sandy who was such a loving partner to Tom.
