Obituary

Stan Parkhurst was born in San Diego, CA December 29, 1951. His family moved to Tucson when he was 15 and then back to Glendora, CA 2 years later. He and Lori, his wife, found each other at Glendora High School and were inseparable for the next 47 years. They cherished each other and enjoyed 42 years of marriage. Stan’s greatest accomplishment, by far, was his two children, Lorin and Ryan. He adored them and was most proud of them. They held a special and precious bond with their father. He was a deeply devoted father and husband, always putting the needs of his family first.

Lori and Stan raised their children in Escondido, CA where he worked as General Sales Manager at Toyota of Escondido and Heller Ford/Mitsubishi. They relocated to the Phoenix area in 2007 to be near family and Stan began his career with Sanderson Lincoln with a detour to work as a Sales Consultant to dealers for the national BMW Corporation.

Stan became the General Sale Manager at Sanderson Lincoln in November of 2011.

He worked with passion and tireless commitment to inspire excellence in everyone that worked with him.   Stan created and implemented processes and trained and coached his sales team until he had developed a culture of exceptional customer care.   Through his dedicated sales leadership Sanderson was honored with the coveted President’s Award from the Lincoln Motor Company during his first year as the General Sales Manager and every year since.

His commitment to a superior customer experience never wavered.   Stan was personally awarded the Lincoln Employee Excellence Award for 4 years in a row. When Stan started with Sanderson, the dealership was ranked in the top 40. Today Sanderson enjoys the distinction of being ranked in the top 25. Sanderson has been awarded the Lincoln Leaders Award each year under his leadership.

Stan was brilliant and innovative. He contributed much to the professional development of his team. He encouraged everyone he worked with to look for ways to improve, excel and grow both personally and professionally.   He was generous with his time and his knowledge.

Stan made an enduring impression on the culture at Sanderson Lincoln and on all that had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

Stan had a passion and mastery of anything technical, from computers to vehicles. If you needed help fixing anything, he was your go-to-guy and he always was there for anyone with a willing heart. This led him to the world of motorcycles which allowed he and his wife to not only enjoy the fun of riding but developed exceptional relationships with quality friends. There will be a memorial ride in his honor on Sunday, September 11, 2016 with donations benefitting his favorite charity, Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, a senior dog rescue.

In his 64 years Stan cared deeply – for friends, coworkers, customers and most importantly, his family. He leaves behind a legacy of respect, support and infinite love – deep, deep love. He is preceded in death by his father “Parky” and his mother Marie “Maga”. He is survived by his wife, Lori, children Lorin and Ryan and 5 grandchildren, Cody, Carter, Charlie, Annie and brand new Henry. We will go on with our lives, honoring him through the upbringing of these grandchildren and appreciating all he has given us. In his way through unwavering commitment, he has molded us into the best version of ourselves to embrace family, pursue justice and contribute something meaningful to all we encounter. He is loved. He is missed. Always.

  3. Dear Lori,

It is with profound sadness we read of Stan’s passing. He was a wonderful neighbor. Always willing to share his great depth of knowledge. Especially anything technical. We will keep you in our prayers. Always remembering Heaven will be a better place knowing that Stan is home with God.
