Obituary

Roger Doine Follett, age 81 of Litchfield Park, AZ died on September 18, 2016 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born October 16, 1934 in Angola, IN to Doine and Iris Follett. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1952 where he was a member of the Student Council and Letterman Club and played basketball, baseball and track. It was during this time that Roger built many roads across Arizona while continuing to live in his trailer throughout several small cities. He later purchased a home in Maryvale, and after his children grew up, he moved to Litchfield Park, joined the Country Club and was “living the life.” In 1999, his wife of 43 years passed of cancer, and following a few years of grieving Roger met Polly, the second love of his life and married her 23 of October, 2006.

Roger was a private pilot, fisherman, hunter, and loved to collect rocks. He was a member of Wigwam Golf Resort, being an avid golfer that had achieved 2 holes in one.

Roger is survived by his wife, Paulette Rae Miller-Follett; daughters, Kimberly Ann Dwyer, Lori Leigh Crozier, Mary Ayala; sons, David Scott Follett, Lloyd Campbell, II, Richard Campbell; sisters, Rhonda Gehard, Rochelle Stubbs, Debie Walter; brothers, Robert Follett, Ted Walter; 16 grandchildren, Bryanna, Shaun, and Aaron Patrick, Nick and Alyssa Dwyer, Kattie and Cody Crozier, Ashley and Rory Follett, Charrie Camacho, Shelby, Ellie, Gabiral, and Jex Campbell, Lloyd Campbell, III, Jake Coakley; and 6 great grandchildren, Bryghton Tauscher, Brynnleigh Blanco, Finnegan Patrick, Nadia Vargas, and Tavier Garcia. Condolences to Polly, siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roger was a real “mensch”. The German word is so more descriptive of Roger than “man”.
He was modest, self-effacing and yet talented and so competent. And best of all he brought smiles and laughter.
Even in pain the smile upon greeting was warm and so “Roger”.
Notes of farewell to a friend are always so inadequate but we try.
…Lord have mercy on such as we…baa. baa, baa.

  2. We will miss you so much, but are comforted knowing we have a new guardian angel watching over our family. May you rest in eternal peace.
