Obituary

Mr. Jose A. Muñoz, 90, of Avondale, AZ died October 29, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born August 26, 1924 in Swink, Colorado to Juan and Louisa Muñoz.  Mr. Muñoz worked at Reynolds Aluminum until retirement.  He volunteered at St. John Vianney Church doing various chores and delivering food. Aside from entertaining the family by singing and playing the guitar on holidays, he also sang in the church choir at St. John Vianney, and played at funerals and weddings with a group called Los Alegres Compadres.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Mr. Muñoz is survived by his daughters Bertha Forner (Rudy), Eva Muñoz, son George Muñoz, sister-in-law Rachel Muñoz, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Erminia Muñoz, son Joe Muñoz, and grandson Andres Cabrales. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, rosary at 7:00 pm, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 918 S. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ.  Mass will be Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Parish, 539 La Pasada Blvd, Goodyear, AZ.  Burial will follow at West Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, AZ.
