  1. I am sorry to hear of Maria’s death. I worked with her in specialty team clinics for children with special health care needs in Wichita. Maria was an excellent interpreter. She was very kind to the families she served and to our staff. I always thought she was naturally very beautiful; her ready smile and humor, her care for others, the sparkle in her eyes. Her faith was strong, at her core.
We were grieved when her illness began to interfere with her ability to interpret for the families. My Mother was suffering the effects of Alzheimer’s at the same time, so I knew the effects. We were so sad to lose her as part of our team in this way.
Jim was devoted and loving. I did not meet the children. Maria loved her family above all else.
May the Lord comfort all of you with your great loss of a lovely lady. It is a heartbreaking disease, cruel on so many levels. Remember her in all the beauty she brought to this world.

    1. Thank you very much Marcia for your kind words. They do mean very much to us and will remain with us.

  2. Patricia Fox says:

Maria was one of the loveliest women I have ever worked with. She was my Spanish interpreter when I worked as a caseworker for the State of Kansas at SRS. She was always available to me and was very supportive to my clients. Jim was a wonderful caregiver and I missed them when they were no longer going to Church of the Resurrection in Bel Aire, KS. I am sure that God has a special place for Maria in heaven.

    1. Thank you Patricia for being a good friend to Maria. We missed all of our friends at Church of the Resurrection when we could no longer attend daily Mass. In moving I go the help I needed for her and me. With this help I was able to keep her home with me.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Marie during the 80’s at the nursing home in Haysville and remember her as a very caring person. I know she will be missed.

    1. Thank you Sandra for your kind words.
      Jim, Jim Jr & Michael
