Obituary

Leno Anthony Prandini, 94 passed away August 12, 2016 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born August 9, 1922 in West Frankfort, IL to Pietro and Stella Prandini.

Leno would often say that one of his greatest accomplishments in life was reaching the age of 94. His abundant life was one of bravery, service, compassion, family and fun. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed aboard the USS Kitkun Bay, an escort aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean. On October 24, 1944, Kitkun Bay was involved in the Battle of Samar, a pivotal encounter in one of the largest naval battles in history, The Battle of Leyte Gulf.   Upon returning home Leno graduated from John Marshall Law School and practiced law in the Chicago area. He was a great cook, an avid golfer and a Chicago sports fan. A wonderful father, he was always there to lift and support his family. They were his greatest pride and highest achievement. He leaves behind hundreds of friends, scores of grateful clients and a loving family that will always miss him.

Leno is survived by his second wife, Joann Prandini; his daughter Ellen Chapman (Tim); son, James Prandini (Donna); grandsons, Anthony and Mark Prandini; step-daughters, Margaret Gray, Janet Robertson (James Hilt) and Susan Cox; step-sons, Richard Robertson (Verna), James and Steve Robertson and two nieces, Patricia and Donna and their families. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley; sister, Italine; brother, Reno and parents, Pietro and Stella Prandini.
