Obituary

Lawence N. Laine passed away at Palm Valley Rehabilitation Care Center in Goodyear, AZ on Nov. 5th 2017 after a brief battle with a rare cancer. He was born on Oct. 30, 1942 in Aberdeen, WA to Elmer and Agnes Laine.

He graduated from Ocosta High School, Westport, WA in 1961 and received an AA in Accounting from North Seattle Community College in 1976. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and served 2 of the 4 years overseas. He had achieved the rank of Sergeant by the time of his Honorable Discharge in 1968.

Larry married his wife Valerie on Oct 2, 1971. They remained together for the next 46 years. He moved to Glendale, AZ in 1978 where he first worked in real estate. He spent the bulk of his career at Maricopa Medical Center working in the medical supply area. He remained there for 17 years. Larry worked 6 years as a Postal Worker at the Main Phoenix Post Office before retiring in 2005.

He spent his retirement years’ metal detecting in the desert west of Phoenix but was unable to locate anything noteworthy. He also enjoyed reading, assembling jigsaw puzzles and indulging both his sweet tooth and a pair of cats.

Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother George and sister Marlene Trail. He is survived by his wife Valerie and son Shannon of Goodyear, AZ, his brother Kenneth Schick of Seattle, WA, sister Susan Jackson of Sacramento, CA and nephews in WA state and Denver, CO.

A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 830 E. Plaza Circle, Litchfield Park, AZ on Saturday, November 11th 2017 at 1PM.
