Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing on January 5th, 2018 of Joan Christine Newton, Goodyear Arizona. Joan lived an exciting and eventful 85 years. Joan was born on November 16th, 1932 in Chicago Illinois. She was raised by loving Mom Wanda (Pruchnicki) Zielinski and many loving aunts and uncles. As an adult, Joan lived in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois including Oak Brook, Naperville and Huntley before eventually retiring to Goodyear.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Joseph Robinson Newton III. Their marriage was a classic romance, an epic love story that played out up until their passing from this world only 27 days apart.
Joan was the proud Mom of three children Cindy (Richard) Carbaugh, Thomas Newton and John Newton. She celebrated her four grandchildren Cindy’s Caitlin and Kyle (Allison) Pfaff and Thomas’ Julia and Lauren Newton.
Joan was a lifelong dancer, starting with tap as a small child continuing through her performances as part of the ShowTime Production in Pebble Creek, Goodyear. It was Joan’s mission to always bring a smile to a person’s face. The adage “she never met a stranger” rang true for Joan as she always made friends with each person she met.
Funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributing to the ShowTime Productions, c/o Chanca Morrell, 3019 North 152nd Drive, Goodyear, Arizona 85395.
That star you see up in the skies might indeed be Joan as she will be performing in heaven through eternity.
